2020 has been nothing short of challenging from every aspect imaginable, including my profession as an Account Manager in Premium Membership Services for professional sports teams. The landscape of having sports fans in an arena or stadium is still unclear, and nobody knows when we’ll be able to experience the thrill of cheering for the home team in their arena again.
As we approached the one year anniversary of the Toronto Raptors winning the NBA Championship, I wanted to reflect on such a memorable year as a way to move forward from this challenging one. And so I decided to (virtually) sit down with friend and colleague, Ben Lam, a designer at Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment. Ben was part of the design team assigned to the creation of the Raptors Championship shoe with Adidas, and was very generous to offer his time to provide insight on the design process and elements that went into the shoe.
