Big 3 Lands in Toronto

For the first time in league history, and it’s second season of existence, the Big 3 Basketball League made a stop in Toronto during their Summer 2018 season. Aside from the recent blockbuster trade that sent Demar DeRozan to San Antonio in exchange for Kawhi Leonard, the Big 3 would be the only action of basketball for Toronto this summer.

The Big 3 would bring some familiar faces and old fan favourites back to the hardwood. From one of the most athletic big men to play the game in A’mare Stoudamire to three-time dunk champion Nate Robinson. From the jaw jawing scrappy guard in Gary Payton to the sharp-shooting lefty, Cuttino Mobley. But none of the aforementioned would receive a reception and ovation quite like the one that Brian Scalabrine would receive, also known as the “White Mamba.”

The event would last for about four hours in it’s entirety, and served as an enjoyable kickoff to the weekend for basketball fans across the city. And as fans in attendance made their way to the exits after the final buzzer, you could really feel a sense of excitement for the upcoming Raptors season.
