On January 13, 2018, the only day that the reigning NBA champion Golden State Warriors would visit the Toronto Raptors at the Air Canada Centre, I had the opportunity to help organize and experience an event hosted by Under Armour Canada. To promote and increase awareness on the latest release of the Under Armour Curry 4, Under Armour Canada invited several local influencers and Foot Locker HQ personnel to watch the Toronto Raptors take on the Golden State Warriors from a premium suite in the Air Canada Centre.
The event started with the invitees receiving early access to the arena where they were brought courtside to watch Under Armour athletes Stephen Curry and Delon Wright warm up before the game. Following this, everyone was then brought to the premium suite that they would be enjoying the game in, and upon arrival were all surprised with their very own pair of the Under Armour Curry 4 model that was soon to be released.
As if pregame access, a new pair of sneakers and a premium suite with unlimited food wasn’t enough, everyone in attendance was also surprised with a post-game visit by Toronto Raptors point guard Delon Wright after the game. Delon took the time to take photos and sign autographs for everyone. Truly an amazing initiative put on by the good people at Under Armour Canada, not only to promote brand awareness but to also encourage the growth of Toronto’s local social media influencers!
